Rushed

For Christmas, my boyfriend bought me a Kindle Fire. It has been such an awesome gift. Not only do I have whatever book I want at my fingertips, but I can also browse through some pretty cheap--sometimes even free-- options.

"Rushed" written by Brian Harmon was one of these free books, but I use the term "free" pretty lightly. I spent a lot of time with this story, and didn't get much out of it.

The main character, Eric, keeps waking up from troubling dreams with an urge that he just has to go... somewhere. Eventually he gives in and readers come along with him on a very strange, creepy, leaves-you-with-more-questions-than-answers journey.

He has to get to the "cathedral" before "fog man" does. Along the way, Eric encounters oozing cows, hybrid animals, shifty figures and trapped spirits. He meets up with folks who are supposed to help him stay on his path, which often takes him through a "fissure" where he is in between worlds, running into the unknown with only his cell phone signal to alert him to when he's strayed from his route.

I kept reading to determine, who is fog man? What's at the cathedral? Why Eric? And why is his wife so cool with the idea that he's risking his life for an undetermined reason?

You could take the time to find out for yourself, but I'm going to urge you not to.

To put it in blatant terms:
It was dumb.

However, take this with a grain of salt. I'm not a sci-fi fan.
